Loving Our Neighbors Food Drive
to support Canby Center Food Bank
if you offer your food to the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the afflicted,
then your light shall rise in the darkness
and your gloom be like the noonday.
-- Isaiah 58:10
As we approach the threshold of November, it appears likely that many of our neighbors will not be receiving the SNAP benefits that allow them to feed themselves and their families. Many in our Zoar church family and in our wider community are expressing concern and asking, "How can we help?"
Pastor Michelle and Intern Pastor Katie met with Ray Keen and staff at the Canby Center to talk about the anticipated need for food in Canby. The Canby Center will be re-opening their food bank in early November.
When we asked how we could help, the Canby Center staff suggested Zoar could run a food drive and hold canned food and other non-perishables until they re-open. Of course, we agreed to do our part.
So, if anyone asks how they can help, please let them know that Zoar will be a collection spot for the Canby Center the first couple of weeks in November. Donations can be dropped off between 1 and 3:30 on weekdays, or Sunday mornings before noon.
