ALL Are Welcome!
Tuesdays, 5-6:30 pm
@ Zoar Lutheran Church
As you know, hunger continues to be a problem
In a country as wealthy as ours, this seems unconscionable. After much soul searching and prayer, Bob and Sally Boonstra decided to confront this situation head on. They secured initial funding, plan the menus, shop for supplies, and train and direct the volunteers who prepare and serve.
Every Tuesday, from 5-6:30 pm, Zoar hosts a free community dinner for anyone who wants to attend. Those who can give an offering, but there is no charge for the dinners. Each dinner includes a main dish, bread, vegetables, fruits, dessert, and coffee, juice or water. Often there is produce or other food items available to take home.
This ministry began in July 14, 2011 and has grown to serving, on average, 80 meals to men, women, and children each week. As the number served grows, so does the need for volunteers and donations of food and/or financial support.
