From October - May, a group of ladies (and sometimes men!) meets monthly - sometimes more - to make fabric scraps into works of art - quilts! Each spring, most of the quilts made during the year are given to Clackamas County Children's Services. They, in turn, give the quilts to foster children. Many times these quilts are the only things other than clothing that the children take from one home to another. A few quilts are sold in our Holiday Fair to allow purchasing fun additional fabric that kids love!
Our local Kiwanas also distributes some of the quilts to those in need throughout the community. Additional requests arise throughout the year from other sources, and the ladies provide quilts to fill that need.
This group has an opportunity to share God's love through the work of their hands and the warmth of their quilts. You are welcome to join in, even if you've never touched a sewing machine! There are many steps that go in to making these quilts, and we'd love to have you be a part of the process!
